"Let The Good Times Roll" Art Show & Benefit

Black Sheep Skateshop and Gallery Twenty-Two had put on a skate deck art show called "Let The Good Times Roll" to benefit a grassroots skate park movement in Charlotte, NC. The art show featured customized skate board artwork from a diverse group of the area's most talented underground artists. Chris Stuart, John Hairston, Richie Mccorkle, ChalkBoard, Matt Hooker, Jason Hanna, Radar, SmackHound, Mike Siancas, Matt Brown, and many others had work in the show. I can straight up say, that the collection of decks on display were outstanding. I tried my best to capture every deck on display, but not sure if I succeeded. It was a great turnout, I think the whole Plaza-Midwood family came through Twenty-Two. I hopefully did not make anybody to uncomfortable with my camera and snapping shots of the event. The air conditioning had some issues in the gallery, so it was a little hot. I am sure the hosts did their best to keep folks cool in the gallery. I also caught wind of a few artist had their pieces sold even before the event, Stuart and ChalkBoard being a part of that group. I didn't make it over to Snug Harbor for the in-between party and after-party..I was worn out. Well, It was a great time again on the Plaza-Midwood block. Congrats to all the artists in the show. We the Skate and Art community thank you for your talents, time, and creativity. New friends I met, and old friends I had a chance to hang with.Congrats to those artists that were able to sell the art they had created. Thanks again to my homies @BlackSheep Skateshop, Lisa @Gallery Twenty-Two, all the artist that were in the show.

BLKSHP.NYC.

Well, It's be like 2 weeks since I made the trip to NYC to meet up with some Camden Boys. Josh and Chase of BlackSheep Skateshop were headed up to NYC for the Agenda Tradeshow. I rolled to Maryland first, then met up with Hen a day before the Sheep came through. I only carried the camera with me twice out of the week I was in NYC. Josh, Chase, Andy, and myself hit up 12 & A park in the city for the second time and it was epic. Serious tricks were going down there at 12 and A, all I could do was watch. The same day a few guys from SUPREME were there skating too. Because the guys from SUPREME knew Andy, we also got to hang and skate, skate to hit the deli for beers, and then skate to the clubs for more beers. I experienced real NYC skate shit first hand and it was awesome. Andy gave us the tour called "the loop" in the city, which we skated on a hot day. Josh and I made the mistake of wearing black clothes, and we payed for that..trust me. I always have a great time when I go to NYC, a different experience with each trip. Hopefully, I will be seeing you real soon New York. Oh yeah here are a few of the photos from the trip.

Red Bull Manny Mania Charlotte

Picture 008

This past HOT ass Saturday, the RED BULL MANNY MANIA event rolled through. Not only was it in town, it was on the block called Camden. Oh yeah, right in front of the Camden staple Fat Burrito(which I had a little earlier today) If you would like a quick overview of what Manny Mania is, well I will try to explain. I'm pretty sure Joey Brezinski was at the helm to get this type of technical contest rolling. The contest revolves around one trick, which is the Manual. If your sure what a manual is, basically balancing on either the front or back two wheels.

It's not a contest to see how long you can balance on two wheels down the street. This contest is more on sliding, grinding, flipping in and flipping out, and make sure you throw a manual in there somewhere, the possibilities are insane. I just purchased my new camera, so I didn't really get to test it out to much before the event. My card was too small, so I had to delete photos during the event. While I was doing that, tricks were going down and I missed great tricks. I will be better prepared and on point next time. Ryan Flynn was there with a CANON EOS-1 and more, I know his name with photo credits from Focus Skateboarding Magazine. Let's just say about Ryan, that's a bad man. It was a great turnout at the event, even with it being 100 degrees outside. I'm glad everyone stayed cool with refreshments and shade provided by RED BULL. My boy Joe aka DJ Spclgst (Special Guest) who straight up killed it all day long on the Huge Red Bull truck.

The BLACKSHEEP SKATESHOP crew was in full effect and in attendance. Blacksheep/Camden homies OJ Farrar, Ian Isenhour, Danny Delvin, Travis Kirkpatrick, Micah Mcswain, and Blake Spencer were in the contest. I know Bluetile Skates in Columbia, SC, Ruin Skateshop out of Atlanta, were all there.
It's been a while since I shot any moving objects, so It click it'll it was to late. Meaning I had a full card, it would have been better if I had some sequence shots. Anyways, It was HOT, had alot of fun, I got to see the Camden boys skate, good times. Oh yeah, thanks Audrey @RedBull for hooking a homie up.
