Southern Swap Meet

On May 20, 2011..I drove down for the Atlanta's first event of its kind, The Southern Swap Meet...Warhorse Workshop and Billy Reid hosted a preview for K Swiss and J Crew collabs at the old Standard location on Peachtree Rd...Dogfish Head beer was also there with a little liquid refreshments because it was HOT that day... Oakleaf and Acorn, The Brothers Galleon, a cool girl selling limeaide, another guy selling boiled peanuts were also at attendance at the event. It was great to see the Warhorse Workshop family and how much they have been working to put out a new line of expertly handmade leather goods as well as their collaboration with Ebbets Field caps.

The next day I went to The Goat Farm, formerly a cotton gin, The Goat Farm is a 12-acre historical site that includes industrial, mixed-use residential and studio space. It is a popular venue for art studios, gallery showings, concerts and film productions. This is where the second installmet of the swap meet was held. The venue was cooler than I thought I would be. Sebago, Wolverine 1000 Mile, Oakleaf and Acorn, The Brothers Galleon, Standard, and Southern Star Tattoo werein the building. Street food by West Side, King of Pops, Tamale Queen, Fancy Peanuts, Grace's Goodness, and Good Food Truck. Finally, visual art and musical acts will include Evereman, Scott Dupree, Corrina Mensoff, Adron, George Long, Little Tybee, and Cousin Dan. Even though the hot weather cut my time short there. I only took a hand full of photos..for the reason that you should come down and check it out for yourself. From what I hear from a lot of people, it got packed, they had a great time, and I missed all the "eye candy"..smh. It was great to see everyone still working hard on the their respected brands. It was great to have a few laughs with my Atlanta friends and cherish the time we have together. I got a inside tip on the next event..and I'm so ready for that one in the fall. Be on the look out for it...I'll keep you posted.
