Jason Hanna x John Hairston presents: MONSTER MASH-UP
This past Friday, on the Camden Block the good homies
Jason Hanna and John Hairston jr of GODCITY were featuring their new works at Black Sheep Skateshop.
MONSTER MASH-UP was the name of the Halloween themed art show which had some spooky cool new pieces.
I arrived a little early to avoid the crowds because it was really nice outside.
Had the fellow Steel Pan Bredren DJ Enlil on the tables to provide the SoundClash for the evening.
Great detailed art work from the homies Jason & John.
Come out support and even buy some art from
these great artist in the Local scene.
Congrats homies keep on doing your thang thizzle.

STREET LOCAL FALL 2009 RELEASE

It’s finally here folks, our Fall 2009 release is set and ready to go! We have been hard at work over the last 2 weeks finishing up everything and adding some new details to each garment. We are very proud of this release. Each piece here has its own story and meaning behind the designs. We think its something we have always done and will always continue to do, give you guys meaning. We want everyone to wear our clothes, we want everyone to feel good about wearing something of ours.(Look Better Feel Better). Its also important that we support each other with what we do. With out that in the equation things can be harder. We thank everybody so much for the continued support and hope that everyone enjoys our hard work.-Ryan
Standard will have the new collection mid next week, so keep an eye out for it on there site. Here's a closer look at the Fall 09' lineup.

SpreadLove's "Felabration" w/ Roy Ayers & Rich Medina
Well, Steve and I were back in Atlanta for a day run for DJ Kemit's
SpreadLove's October Event.
This was a celebration of Fela Kuti the "Godfather Of Afrobeat". With DJ KEMIT, RICH MEDINA, DJ AUSAR, MAUSIKI SCALES & COMMON GROUND COLLECTIVE, and the "James Brown" of jazz music..ROY AYERS.
Oh it's was about to be one of those nights. I am just going to say, when we walked in the door guys and girls were getting their faces painted. Africa face paint to get into the mood and the celebration of the nights event to represent Fela. I just have to say that would never get done in Charlotte. Well, maybe a few ladies that I know. Not on scale I had seen that night..at all. Mausiki and the Common Ground most def set the tone for the night. Outstanding performance all night from them..they were on the stage majority of the night. Roy Ayers got on stage and killed it!
I mean what else is there to say. I hate that a few folks in the crew wasn't able to get some of it. Hopefully next time we can make it happen. Rich Medina..whew!!
I have no idea what was going on..but he was straight trippin'. Every song he played was a banger. People did not get off the dance floor until DJ Kemit said last song.
It's was the most insane energy and fun I've had in a few. It was awesome.

Westside Connection
Well, I'm back in Atlanta the following weekend. I decided to roll with Dom to meet the homie DJ Five outta Vegas. DJ Five was coming back to Opera for his second time both in Atlanta and at Opera. So of course Hyatt downtown Atlanta here I come and always a cool view. I just hate that I'm always on the 15Th floor or better. This time it's the 22nd floor..shit. Oh well, just as long I don't look down..I'll be aight.

I kinda erased the photos of us at Rama 5,
it was the first time for Dom and Five.
They enjoyed it and everything was straight. Now we head back to the rooms and get ready to ready to be picked up with Five to head to Opera.
So, after about a hour and a half we meet Five and his hotel around the corner.
Now, DJ Five has told me he usually got picked up in town car or an escalade.
Not this time the driver picked us up in a old school Trans Am.
The best thing that it was the three of us, and there was no front seat.
It was funny, even though I was on the hump, I was hurting for a minute though.

Well, I guess I can say the club was cool. It's an old Opera house turned into a club.
It's pretty crazy. there where alot of girls, I mean alot. DJ Five did his thing. He even kept it thoro for me by playing "live at BBQ" and alot of "Head Shit" for me.
Also the biggest DJ booth I've even been in. Well just check the photos.

After, the great time at Opera. We hit the Midtown Diner. A Greek eat/club spot that was still going at 4am when we got there. Sunday, you know I don't eat shit like this.
Dom had to go to The Varsity to eat, so I got the chicken and a fried pie..
I just paid for it later.

That's most likely be the last time I eat there. Anyways, I'll be back in the A real soon, Like next weekend. can't wait. Up here the cold is mos def coming around. Atl was good this trip also...Can't wait for the next one.
