Day n' Night

I caught myself singing this song in the line at Wal-Mart.
I was like.."..day n' night, I toss and whoa..huh..duh hell??"
I quickly went to GZA.
"When the MC's came, to live out their name
And to perform some had to snort cocaine to act insane.."
No diss..the song is cool.
Big Shouts to My KITSCHWORTH Fam.

HARO

I had an earlier post about the "Jump Ramp".
In that post I talked really quick about my HARO SPORT Freestyler
That was stolen when I was younger.
Which in turn got me into skateboarding.
Here is the interview with founder Bob Haro
former freestyle BMX rider turned artist and business executive.

If I would have had these construction utensils growing up,
eating Lima Beans may have been a little more fun.
Maybe even tasted a little better..
Naw they're still nasty as hell.

I came across these shirts that made me laugh yesterday.
The Tron or Clu..I can't remember who was who,
But with the dog and frisbee...pretty funny.
Haha the one with Prince riding the segway is just as funny.
I wouldn't be caught dead wearing the tees..
Just thought they were a little creative.

Practice What You Preach.

Yo check it yo
Women cry, children laugh, men dance
I REFUSE TO LOSE SELF AND TRY TO WIN FANS OVER
Weight on my shoulder fluctuates like Oprah's
My refrigerator poetry's magnetic like ultra
You couldn't hang if you was a poster
POSIN' LIKE A BITCH FOR EXPOSURE
It's rumors of gay MC's, just don't come around me wit it
You still rockin hickies, don't let me find out he did it
Got My Eyes on the Tiger, Eyes on the Prize
Eyes on the thighs of Mary J. Blige,
imagin on how good the cat must be
Stop eatin meat, lost weight, but I still rap husky
My verse depth is that of a baby's first step
Or the old lady who died and the nurse wept
I flow like cursive writing, invitin you and yours to my openess
Shows allow me to cop Range(Rover)like a vocalist
But man does not live on bread alone
What good is a Range(Rover)when it's time to head home.

We Have Decided Not To Die is an unusual short film. A modern day allegorical triptych, three figures under go transformation through three rituals: Birth, Between and Rebirth. Though not a story in any conventional sense, We Have Decided Not To Die's visual poetry captivates just the same, evoking a surreal ritualistic world, whose characters appear to float free of space and time.
The director is Daniel Askill, a music video director behind videos for UNKLE, Placebo and Digitalism among others, and who also is the star of the second ritual. His penchant for water environments, slo-mo movement and other usual trademarks of his work are all present here.

Watch the entire short here, or read an interview with the director about the movie here

Jimmy and I headed out to Costco up in Matthews for a sec.
Really it's these Brothers-ALL-Natural Fuji Apple Crisps he's
all about now. I got a little hungry looking at all this food in Costco.
I start looking for some snacks myself,
and walk through the clothes section of Costco.
I see some tattoo tees and say to myself
"damn they got some fake Ed Hardy up in Costco.."
As I get closer and look..oh no it's real Ed.
So yeah, you Charlotte Uptown Elite bastards
You can now get your joints in your local Costco.
Affliction tees might be right around the corner..
You can also get a 90 oz bottle of bleach
to pour on yourself for wearing that shit...
Hope it gets in your eyes.

Your Last Meal..For Real

Sloppy Joe On A Krispy Kreme

Last Saturday at Jasiatic's party, my boy Maf pulled up on the internet this
website with some pretty rough food combos.
I remember some of the images from another site.
It started with the Coronary Bypass Burger conversation we had last week.
The Coronary Bypass Burger which is at the The Vortex
in Lil' 5 points in Atlanta.
which includes: 32 ounces 100 percent ground sirloin, 12 strips bacon,
4 large eggs, 8 slices American cheese, 4 kaiser egg buns, 1 tablespoon butter
4 lettuce leaves, 4 slices tomato, 4 slices red onion..whew.
Then they got The Double Bypass Burger made with three fried eggs, four slices of American cheese, and five slices of bacon, with two grilled cheese sandwiches replacing the buns.
I don't see how you can even eat something like that. I see why we
are that fattest people in the world. The U.S. is making up food and shit.
I'm just going to end all this with one word.
Gluttony

You can check the rest of the food on the site HERE

JUMP RAMP

Oh man, does this bring back the reason that made me want to start skateboarding in the first place.
I was in Fort Ord, California around 1987, yeah I said 87'.
When my two of my friends Tony and Brett were skating a jump ramp
after school one day on a dead end street. Tony's house as the last house
on the street so there was no traffic. My Haro GT got jacked, so I was riding
a freestyle scooter with pegs and shit.
I use to hang out with them and watch them skate the launch ramp they built.
This was before you could buy them from Active or Dick's sporting goods.
Finally, I got a skateboard for Christmas and was riding.
Then the whole meeting and skating
with Justin while he was about to go pro for
Dogtown and moving to SF.
The jump ramp part is before all that.
Anyways, I'm not going down that road again.
Just great memories of a my youth.

Raise It Up for Ma Dukes

Photobucket

The Dutch artist Parra has once again teamed up with Stones Throw on yet another tee shirt collaboration. Parra was touched after reading this Vibe article, about the struggle Maureen “Ma Dukes” Yancey, the mother of the late James “J Dilla” Yancey, is facing with the legal battle over her late sons estate, all while suffering from the same disease that lead to his untimely death. Proceeds from the tee shirt will go to help ‘Ma Dukes’ in here struggle. A list of select retailers as well as more information about the Lancy family and the disease Lupus can be found on Stones Throw. However, the t-shirt is available now on the STANDARD ATL and Stones Throw Online Store while supplies last.

Damn Mickey D's

To the Selectors (DJs)

"You stayed true to your quest,
So let the beauty which is
the musical universe in gulf you.
Recharge your spirit, purfiy your mind,
and touch your soul.
And give you the internal joy and happiness
you truly deserve.
You now have the knowledge..do you want it?
If you had it would you flaunt it?
Well, it's yours."
-Classic Broken Beat

Words For The DJ..by Puff??

I give Puff alotta shit..well because it's Puff.
Puff actually made good sense on this one.
Things that my friends have been talking about for about for years.
I know DJs that have been doing it for 16 years
all the way down to 3 months.
I have friends that are spinning that have changed,
because in Charlotte if you play something that
is not on WPEG or played at the bullshit clubs Uptown.
You will clear the dance floor because they can't sing along.
People are not open to different music in general.
I will at least give it a try before I completely dislike it.

I was at the Grad on Central last night with the crew hanging out.
Of course, DJ Enlil was spinning and it was some weird shit going down.
Frazier was playing Jazz samples of Hip Hop classics..
I mean ones that make go "OH SHIT!!"..
gotta be a head to roll with us.
4 guys came out asking to play T.I., Jezzy, or Lil' Wayne.
I mean there are plenty of clubs you can hear that shit.
One girl tried to give Fraz a cd from her car.
Two drunk girls were messing with him..
one had the balls to try to scratch
on the serato and fucked up and cut the music off
by knocking the whole shit off track..
he just yelled at her and keep spinning.
He's better than me..I wouldn't have put my hands on her..
but a dropkick in the teeth might have went down.
If anybody knows Fraz he will never conform to the norm
he continued to play his set, and since they tried his patience.
he played no Hip Hop
He killed it like usual, some so-called dope boys left
the B-Boys, the old heads, more folks came in,
the drunks playing Wii,
the guy with crutches who has dancing too.
The hoods
With all that mess, DJ Enlil still did his thing.
Simple..
BE TRUE TO YOURSELF.

WHOA!!

Photobucket

I was checking out GIZMODO and came across
this a dude playing XBOX 360 on a 269" inch television.
It is the most insane thing. I know after a while your eyes will hurt.
Playing on my homie's 42" inch was enough for me.
Playing on this would be good for about 2 hrs for me.
After that, I'd be ready to get away from looking at that shit.
You can read the rest HERE
