Don't Sleep
A long time ago,
I dated a young lady who has a brother by the name of Darren Grant who directed this video "fill me in" by Craig David. I dated her off and on for about 4 years, we are still friends..plus I got to hang out and become friends with Darren. The girl in the video isn't her, but the hair, skin complexion, and other things are her no doubt..
I know he did that on purpose. When I met Darren he was coming back from doing Timbaland & Magoo's "Luv 2 Luv U" video which was back in 97'. I was working a regular job and danced for fun and to battle others. I didn't think about trying to take things to a "professional" level with one of my many crafts at the time. As time went by Darren and I got to know each other, I sent him a tape of me freestyling at a club called Tonic when it was open. He was down to put in a video, and at the time I had no clue who Craig David was. Well, this was back in 2001..all I had to do was fly to LA last minute, and stay with him if I needed to. So as you can see I didn't go, so many things that were minor kept me from making that move to LA. I shoulda, woulda, coulda all that..big mistake and when I seen the video my mouth was dry and my heart damn near stopped. Darren asked me several times to move to LA, and stay with him until I get out on my own to get into dancing out there. I won't get into why I didn't make the jump..but I didn't as you can see.
Even when he was doing all Destiny's Child's video when they first came out. I was going to do one of their videos, but at the last minute they changed the single to "Survivor" and already had dancers..I also missed that by a hair too.
I still keep in contact with Darren over these years, he also came back to Charlotte and did Anthony Hamilton's video but I had the flu and couldn't even get out the bed for 3 days. So who knows what would have happened if I would have went to LA and became a Choreographer. I still watch dancing but not what you see in video..it's funny we did that shit 15 years ago. Darren is still doing big things moviewise "Diary of a Mad Black Woman" and "Make it Happen" the dance movie. Yeah the money isn't in vids anymore..movies is where it's at.
So I learned a while ago about missing opportunities, and the
"one shot" deal. That's why I try to keep a lot of things going, and try to get things in a forward progression mode.
I will not let another opportunity slip through my fingers again. I will do everything I can in my power to keep it thoro. With every connection, every avenue, and every way possible and I will do what I got to do. So very, very soon I will continue on my path in this life to greatness. I am, all day everyday will be rolling in full effect with my fellow "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" aka Street Locals down in the 404. I am glad and thankful that I was included in the vision of Street Local and will do my part to the fullest..my relocation is key. Even the side hustle I'm doing also will get much attention in a few too. I just want to say anyone that reads these rants and opinions of mine and look into the message I'm trying to convey here.
We should all pay attention and strive to make sure when an opportunity presence itself to go for it. I mean be mindful, do your research, and make sure it will benefit you in a good way. Try not to think to hard into it, let it come natural, and you know inside if your making the right move. I mean if your passionate about something and you feel it in your gut..simple..do it . I want to make sure I use these god given ideas and talents to my fullest potential before it is too late. I also want to too see my family, friends, and krew massive to capitalize on they're dreams too. So in short..let's go get it..and don't waste any opportunity.

Chill
Yesterday was a really warm day, Jimmy and I rolled through to "The Mills"(Concord Mills) to hit up some stuff. Forgot about the race traffic #1, so Jimmy got busy and cut through traffic..and we finally got up in there. As we walked around, got a ring from Rashad to come through to the lake and hang. So we dipped out, and hung for a while with some of his family. Great food was and is always in effect when you are at a Fraziers gathering. It was great to sit down next to the lake and chill for a few, I didn't go out on the 3 boats that they had chillin'. It was cool to hang out with my fellow Boy Krew members and catch up on things.

I Made Another
I made another Birthday, I don't mind if anybody knew about it. I just have been hearing bad news all week and I'm so thankful to have another birthday to celebrate. Yes, tomorrow is not promised to you which we all know, and we are all reminded that everyday single day. Growing up in California "Killah Cali, the home of the Crips and Bloods Pimps and thugs, relax or you get hit with slugs dent your mug, my n****s ain't showin no love." from Wu-Tang Black Knights song "Zip Code". Anyways, growing up in Cali I never thought I would even make to 18 and then 21 because of the lifestyle that was living back then.
Over the years I'm glad I have changed my ways from the bullshit I use to do. I was fucking up forilla thou, haha I was doing some shit. I won't go into all of that, let's just say..I'm glad I tightened up..a little. I have just been hearing alot of bad news lately, kinda bringing me down with things about the world we live in. I like most people that have did dumb stuuf in the past and now have "grown up" and each year being thankful of making it another year. Grown up not meaning "grown and sexy..meaning just in a different mind frame. I'm still here, even though I kinda keep my age to myself I'm cool with how old I am finally. I used this saying in a past entry.."be thankful of getting older, it is a privilege denied to many". You will never know when your time is up, we all know life is short and you want to be the best person you know how..well you should try. We all get caught up, get in our own way, bullshit, life in general, and lose sight of that. We are cruel to one another and do things that you mos def don't want anyone to do to you. I know I am very loyal to those I know who are down with me.
My Mother, Father, and Sister are first mos def #1 on the list. Myself is second, and that may be weird to some..but that is the path I chose. Then my closest friends, these folks I can trust..there are only a handful of these folks in my life..and they know who they are. I actually wanted one person recently to be added to that list of close friends and she didn't know she was in this category because of a comment I made..since then I'm not sure where we stand...but I hope we will remain close friends for a long time. Then that damn Krew my Maw'Fuckaz...these folks are were I can get..you know busy no matter what. The krew excepts me for me and we are down for each other..and that's word. Then everything else falls by the waistside and that's it.
So to wrap this up..I'm glad of making it another year in this life. I'm happy that I have a strong support system of Family, Friends, and Krew..in this life also. I'm also happy to be apart of thier lifes and vice versa in mine. Plan on making this life the best I can make it, keep striving, staying postitive, helping and standing strong beside those who lean on me. I also will help those lay in the fire in which they will burn to those who try to stop Myself, Family, Friends, and Krew in their quest for happiness...I mean that in every inch of my soul. You can try, when I scrape every inch of your skin off with a cheese grader, and fill up my bathtub with alcohol and put you in there..we'll have this conversation again..hold dat!
Where was I? Okay um..yeah also I'm going to make the most out of this life and follow and make goals and accomplish them, love my family, and be a better person.
Like I said before, whew thank God for one more Birthday, glad everybody was in good health helping me bring it in, for those that wasn't..thank you for the cards, text, and myspace comments. I hope we can enjoy another next year. I will help you with your welcome to the world day too. Live, Life, and Love.

Welcome To The World Day
This Album came out the Month and Year I was brought in to the world. I actually have this record, I have it for two reasons. The first, you already know..the second is there are a couple of samples used on this album. I know K-solo and Black Moon off the top of my head. The song is so much like my character it's funny. Deep funky bass lines, smooth horns, strings, jazzy ass piano, saxophone, and arranged so beautiful..yeah it's almost a 8 min song.
Anyways here's Grover Washington Jr "Knucklehead"
I think it's kind of fitting.LOL

It's in the Game...not really.
I was reading today that EA sports is about to come out with some new games called Skate 2 and Skate It. I played every Tony Hawk game and own all of the ones up to his "Underground" game. I got away from the games because they were getting way to not believable, I mean alot of the stuff was impossible. Well, nothing is impossible I guess, but shit would be hard as hell indeed. So I laided off of the skate games for awhile, until last year when EA released the game Skate. It is the best game by far, it has the best controls and more true skateboarding in the way you play the game. Back to what I had read earlier, now EA has a second game plus "Skate It" for Nintendo. So you know what that means, they got a new game designed for Nintendo DS and Wii Balance Board.
I think it'll be fun to play that game, even though they still got same amazing shit you can't do in real life. I like the game and the technology is sick for video games now. It's cool to have those games for those days it's raining, way to humid, or snow outside. Hell, if your hurt, if sick, whatever that will keep you from being outside and skating for real.
Scott Blackwood, Executive Producer for Skate franchise had made this comment in the interview I read: “We knew it would be an exciting challenge to bring the soul and feel of skateboarding to the Wii and Nintendo DS,” With fresh new designs and gameplay components built from scratch, we’ve been able to, once again, capture the true experience of skateboarding in a completely innovative way.”
It also said in the interview about the Wii Balance Board which gives players a fresh way to create their own signature skateboarding style. Hahaaha That's kinda funny to me, the only way to "create your signature style" is to go skate in real life. I mean go buy a board, trucks, wheels, bearings, grip, a skate tool, and get some shoes that feel good to your feet. Practice, practice, practice, practice, don't get frustrated, your going to fall and your going to get hurt. Just got to be strong get back on your board and keep at it. Be mindful of what you can do, don't ollie 15 stairs when you can barely ollie up a curb..because you'll really get broke off something proper.
That old saying "you gotta crawl before you can walk" that applies in skateboarding too. You can't do treflips before you learn kickflips or skate transition or the skatepark before you learn how to drop in or pump up the transition. Kids always bug me out with that, don't want to learn the fundamentals first want to go straight to the ill stuff first. Be easy young grasshopper, in due time..be patient. So yeah fun times ahead if you really go out and have fun riding your real skateboard. It is freedom to do what you want when you want. No referee, no team (unless sponsered), no plays, just you, your mind, your board. Just don't let the game take over, get out and enjoy your life.
Skate or Die.
I also hope to see you on this day.

Everybody wants a piece.
Now I woke up early this morning to these gangsta birds outside my window fighting each other on my screen window. So as I get up to see whats going on, they leave the scence..nobody died. So might as well get up, so I wash my face, brush teeth, and grab a bowl of honey bunches of oats, and turn on my computer and start reading my top favorite blogs and sites. So I go to Transworld Skateboarding and read this shit that made me almost not eat breakfast.
Joe Maloof, yeah owner of the NBA's Sacramento Kings, Palms Hotel Casino in Las Vegas, is getting started on some shit bigger than X-Games. The event is called
The Maloof Money Cup..the fuck is this shit!! Good lawd , a six event, three day joint nothing else but straight up skateboarding. It runs from July 11-13 of this year at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa, California.
You already know how I feel about this, I don't know if I want to waste the energy on this one. All I want to say as I've said before when the big corporations get ahold of your culture and find out it's big money..it's over. You just got to hold on to what your "culture" what ever it may be. It maybe turning into a fad soon if it isn't already. I remember when HipHop or Rap wasn't even on the radio..now that's all you hear now. I also remember when I was made fun of, gotten in fights, still getting tickets, for skateboarding when it wasn't cool. Now it's cool shit..real cool..so cool it kinda makes me sick now. I always can sit down and have conversations with younger guys that eat sleep skateboarding. The longevity I have I can still have that same convo with the guys my age or older because I was there too.
Anyways, Glad these guys can eat and fuck it man get money. If I was pro, I might do the same thing and join in. It just feels like nothing separates you from anyone, nothing is underground anymore. Skateboarding, Hip Hop, You can't do anything that don't get taken over by the masses , unless you want to start a polygamist ranch or some bullshit.LOL
Anyways my fellow tastemakers, trendsetters, Black Sheep, Locally known on the Streets, Broken Beat path makers, move to the beat of a different drum people. We will overcome and always be cranking out new shit..ALL DAY..EVERY DAY.
Damn..I went off subject again..oh well.
