BLKSHP.NYC.

Well, It's be like 2 weeks since I made the trip to NYC to meet up with some Camden Boys. Josh and Chase of BlackSheep Skateshop were headed up to NYC for the Agenda Tradeshow. I rolled to Maryland first, then met up with Hen a day before the Sheep came through. I only carried the camera with me twice out of the week I was in NYC. Josh, Chase, Andy, and myself hit up 12 & A park in the city for the second time and it was epic. Serious tricks were going down there at 12 and A, all I could do was watch. The same day a few guys from SUPREME were there skating too. Because the guys from SUPREME knew Andy, we also got to hang and skate, skate to hit the deli for beers, and then skate to the clubs for more beers. I experienced real NYC skate shit first hand and it was awesome. Andy gave us the tour called "the loop" in the city, which we skated on a hot day. Josh and I made the mistake of wearing black clothes, and we payed for that..trust me. I always have a great time when I go to NYC, a different experience with each trip. Hopefully, I will be seeing you real soon New York. Oh yeah here are a few of the photos from the trip.

STREETLOCAL INDUSTRIES BOOTH "SUMMER SCHOOL" @ BODEGA in ATL.

STREETLOCAL INDUSTRIES booth "Summer School" @ Bodega in ATL

picnikfile_xUEkdh

This past Sunday, I rode down I-95 to join with my fellow STREETLOCAL comrades for the Bodega event. Bodega is held at Studio 900 were there is a monthly pop-up sale from local brands and small business around the city. I was proud of are booth, It killed, and we had a great response from people that attended the event. We also had on hand were some looks of our vintage collection, handmade bags and leather goods.
All of our handmade items are made by one of the locals as well as they are usually a 1 of 1 piece, or limited quantity (numbered). We did shoot two videos about the day, they are both currently being edited. I will put them up as soon as I can get them. I had fun during the event with a few laughs and got a chance to hang out with my crew. I am looking forward to the next one, but I'm looking forward to something else. I mean the 20 minute drive versus the 3 1/2 hours trip...soon.

DUO

Growing up as a kid, one of my favorite characters on TV was Spock from Star Trek. The thing that I liked about Spock was that he was actually better than Captain Kirk. The thing that intrigued me about Spock, he was second in command..but better. Spock was more intelligent, stronger, and wore blue instead of that mustard yellow uniform. It was cool to me that he was a "leader" in a secondary position, he could take the #1 spot if he wanted. Together they are two strong characters, working together for one common goal. What's a better word than dynamic duo? There has to be a name for it, or a better phrase for two individuals that are great in their own right. I mean better than Batman and Robin, more like Kobe and Shaq.

If you think that the comic and ball players are the same, I feel this is the difference to me. Batman and Robin were both dope, but Robin wasn't up there with Batsy(sorry Joker came out.) Now, Shaq and Kobe they are both very dominant players if they were different teams, they could do their own thing. So, I have some photos that I felt these two indiduals could stand on their own two and still be great. Most of them did just that. I know there can be more added to this list I have here. But, It's not your list.

CHALKBOARD x TYLER BAUM @ Gallery Twenty-Two

This past Saturday, I went to Gallery Twenty Two on Central Ave for a art show. My homie "Chalkboard" aka Derek Ingram teamed up with Tyler Baum to show their new works dubbed "Simple Art for Simple People". The exhibit will be up through March 6th -March 28th, so go by and check it out. I roll to the show with my two slightly tipsy cousins, Alan and Sterling aka Havoc and Mayhem. The two of them were on their best behavior, so no problems on this go around. The only problem I had, was when a was approached by some girl that worked at the gallery while taking photos.

I was taking photos of Chalkboard's work, and she asks me "Are you media or you taking photos for yourself?" I give her a quick look (still taking photos), and say "I guess myself to answer your question." The about to pissed lady, tells me that she wants me to stop the artist will not like that, because their work can be duplicated and the rest I didn't hear. I told her that Derek is a homie, he's actually sitting right there behind me. I continue to tell her I was not told, nor are there any signs up to state that. I also say, "You can feel free to ask him, he is sitting right her behind me." Well, she goes over to Derek to tell him something in his ear. Mr. Chalkboard has a surprised look on his face as if he was caught off guard, like what is going on. As I look on, she looks to see if I'm watching her say whatever in Derek's ears. She gives me a mean ass look like get out of our conversation and walks off behind the bar. Derek give me the okay to keep shooting, Dread-1..Mean Lady-0..keep it moving. I also ran into the Dirt Squad and Spawns Of Gnar crew with beers in hand, some in both hands. Here are some of the art shots.

I did not get to shoot Tyler's art, because of what happened earlier. Plus, someone was touching his art, and the bouncer blanked..I didn't want beef..so I bounced. Next door, Snug Harbor had live music going down. I bumped into some Plaza-Midwood heads I haven't seen a while, and chalked it up for a minute. I did not stay long, so I headed with the cousins down to Camden to Apostrophe. Sterling is headed back to Miami, so the three of us were hanging out one more time together.

I know..I know..yes, that is an 8 Ball jacket. I kind of kept my distance from the guy rocking the vintage leather coat. The guy looked real shifty anyways, Sterling said he was holding something. He did look like he just got out of jail though. All in all it was good night. Congrats to Derek on the show, I'll be waiting on you to see what you got up your sleeve homie.
