DILLA x Stussy
On Saturday Febuary 13th, 2010 to celebrate the life of brilliant
hip hop producer and rapper James "J Dilla" Yancey,
Stussy is releasing a limited edition tee shirt produced in
conjunction with Stones Throw and the Dilla Estate.
I wanted to make sure all of them were out before I posted.

The Gatekeepers
Part 1
Part 2
When I first watched this a week ago, I had this weird flash back of when I worked in the Charlotte bar scene. Most folks know I worked at Alley cat, apart of the door staff for about two years. I took a second to reflect on the time I spent in uptown Charlotte's so called nightlife. I will say that a part of me miss some of the friends I had at the Cat. More of the security than anything, I mean we had each others back when it got busy from level 1 to level 20. I will stay away from the inside the robes part of alley cat this go around. I will stay on subject about the door. It amazed me every weekend just the dumb stuff I had to encounter with club goers. My pet peeves at the door were way to many to list, hell I can't even remember them all. I will say one thing it was a alright time when I was there and super glad I'm not there anymore. I do miss most of all the homies of "snatch crew", the patio platoon, a few doorgirls, and the boss and manager. I will say this from what I know these guys are in New York City that is a whole different level of beast. To be a doorman at a nightclub in NYC is most likely the most insane thing, I would never want any part of that shit. Here's a little insight in the two gentleman's lives.
And oh yeah.."NO SUNGLASSES IN THE CLUB!!"
CLOWNIES, HERBS, LAMES, MARK ASS MARKS, TRICK ASS MARKS..
That goes for women too.
Tighten Up..you fucks.

SSSSTUDDER..
I've been really slow on posts lately because I don't have my main computer. I'm using my Macbook that I only use for traveling.
Anyways, most people know about this video I have posted here. It's a video for CYHI DA PRYNCE (that beat kinda grew on me.)
It was cool that my STREETLOCAL comrade King Alga aka Cory Patton cameo in the video. Along side Greg Street and DJ Drama
shot in my other home STANDARD.
Big Ups To King and Standard.

-Rasta Root.
You can download the mix.

I have been in search of a new camera for a little over two months now. I have been hitting every site I can think of to find a good deal. I know it's not the camera, it's the photographer. I love my Lumix camera with no doubt, it's been a awesome camera. In no way I am a photographer, I just what to get the most out of my photos that I capture with it. I have been doing so much reading and reviews on my choices. I do know how much I am trying to spend on a DSLR camera, so that does narrow the choices down. I will mention a little something about the new purchase, or you will notice a difference in the photos. I guess we will see how this folds out.

Uptown Saturday Night
It's an old joke between Ant and myself about
rolling with the dudes if we had Celeb status back in the day.
I know these dudes would have had you in some shit.
Hell you most likely know a few of some regular folks that do more damage.
Just a little something that crossed my mind again today.

TONES BRIGADE
The homies DJ SPCLGST and MERLIN have a mix inspired
by some of the great video parts in skateboarding.
I mean GOLDFISH, QUESTIONABLE, VIDEO DAYS..ahh the days.
I have to say listening to the songs and remembering the video parts
they will have you inspired to go skate.
I can't wait until the weather gets better.
I'm calling Jason Waters and Bald Mike for a skate session.

Free-Tow-Lay
I worked for Frito-Lay for a while a few years back.
Since then I have had a little hate for the products they produce.
Steve sent me this video it made me laugh.
Also shed a tear because that job use to break me off,
money was straight but went home every night worn down.
For all of my folks about ready to fuck up their boss.
Stay Focused..Stay Up.
